Parsa put on high alert on bird flu outbreak

BIRGUNJ, July 3: The District Livestock Service Office, Parsa has put in place high alert to check possible bird flu outbreak in the district.



At a discussion program organized by District Livestock Service Office with a view to creating public awareness to prevent bird flu, Office Chief Dr Udaya Pratap Singh said they have put high alert as a part of the campaign to not allow the outbreak of avian flu in the district. [break]



He also urged all the concerned authority and individuals to not allow the import of banned birds and poultry products, adopt organic security measures at own poultry firms and immediately inform nearby livestock service centre and sub-centre when problems emerge so as to prevent possible spread of bird flu.



According to District Livestock Quarantine Officer Munindra Nath Sharma, a mechanism comprising representatives from local police administration, concerned authority and technicians has initiated action for effective monitoring of market.
