Parliament endorses intellectual property rights amendment protocol

KATHMANDU, Jan 24: The legislature-parliament meeting on Saturday endorsed the Trade-Related Intellectual Property Rights Agreement (TRIPS) amendment protocol.

In the meeting which started 5 hours and 25 minutes late than the scheduled time, Minister for Commerce Deepak Bohara tabled a proposal for deliberation on the agreement amendment protocol.


The Minister informed the house over the agreement. Meanwhile, some bills for amendment of Nepal Act, 2072 also saw passage through majority voting in the parliament. Earlier Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel tabled the proposal for clause-wise deliberations over the bill.

Among the lawmakers registering their amendment views on the bill, lawmaker Prem Suwal demanded clarification over the bill. RSS
