KATHMANDU, June 11: Human Rights activist and founding chairman of the Nepal chapter of Amnesty International (AI), Krishna Pahadi, has said that he would stay out of the AI movement and programs until the organization accepts its mistakes on Nepal policy. Issuing a press release on Thursday, Pahadi said that AI had lost track on Nepal issues because of the vested interest of some people at the AI headquarters.
Pahadi claimed that he wrote to AI General Secretary Salil Setthi raising two serious questions but could not get answers except an email saying his letter would be responded soon.

Pahadi has questioned the AI's choice to remain silent on the death of Nanda Prasad Adhikari, who died while staging hunger strike demanding legal action against the murderers of his son Krishna Prasad.
Likewise, Pahadi has raised serious question over AI's alleged backing of CK Raut, a Madhesi activist, who is booked time and again in Nepal on sedition charges.
He has also said that AI's regular backing of Raut has saddened its well-wishers in Nepal. Pahadi has argued that Raut had hurt the dignity of Nepali women and engaged in hate speeches and speeches against humanity.
