The services resumed after top level officials accompanied by the police made rounds of the various departments early on Wednesday. Top officials from the institute's management, including Rector Dr Bikram Shrestha, Director Dr Arbinda Sinha, Registrar Tul Bahadur Shrestha and Assistant Director Pashupati Chaudhari, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sudum Kumar Sijapati were in the monitoring team.
“All the services resumed after we set out for monitoring,” informed Dr Sinha. “We will conduct stricter monitoring if any one tries to stop services in future,” he added.
All staffers except the protesting group returned to work after senior officials were themselves seen conducting the monitoring.
“We checked whether our staffers were on duty or not. We also noted down the names of those who were absent,” said Rector Shrestha. “We will decide what action to take against them after holding discussions,” he added.
Even after the resumption of services on Wednesday, only a few patients visited the institute that saw at least 2,000 new patients every day.
