The killed has been identified as Binu Kunwar, 43, of Waling-3, Syangja while the others are Nawaraj KC, 28, of Dhapasi-8 and Rohit Karki, 22, of Bhimeshwor Municipality, Dolakha, said Inspector Shiva Kumar Pokharel of Maharajgunj Traffic Police Circle. [break]
Seriously injured Kunwar was rushed to TU Teaching Hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment. Karki and KC who were slightly injured in the incident were discharged after preliminary treatment at Tilingatar-based BP Memorial Nursing Home.
Police have taken hold of Karki and KC along with the car and kept them at Maharajgunj Traffic Police Circle for investigation.
Victim Kunwar, who was himself the driver and the owner, was driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Karki and KC.
The car had fallen into a drain after it hit a tree due to which its front part has been badly damaged.
