One injured as Indian forest guards open fire in Bardiaya

BARDIYA, March 28: One person has been injured when Indian forest guards from Murtiya range post bordering Bardiya district entered Nepali side and opened fire targating local farmers.

Police said that Ramesh Lodh, 28, of Gulariya Municiplaity was injured. Lodh received injuries to his head and elbow after being hit by the bullets.


According to eyewitnesses, forest guards indiscriminately fired five rounds of bullet while Lodh along with his neighbors was working on a farm.

Locals have demanded stern action against the assailants after the police squad under the command of SP Govinda Pariyar reached the incident site.
