KATHMANDU, July 11: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to launch a new initiative titled ‘Nepal Rastra Bank with borrowers’ aimed at addressing loan-related grievances, particularly in rural areas.
The announcement was made by NRB Governor Dr. Bishwo Nath Paudel during the release of the Monetary Policy for Fiscal Year 2025/26.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
“This program will be implemented to establish continuous dialogue with borrowers in rural areas,” Governor Paudel said, emphasizing the central bank’s commitment to listening to the concerns of debtors.
He also stated that the NRB will coordinate with relevant government bodies to mitigate risks stemming from undesirable practices observed during loan recovery or regularization by banks and financial institutions, all within the existing legal framework.
