Nirmal Niwas acknowledges Gyanendra as ‘Former King’

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Nirmal Niwas has issued a Vijaya Dashami greeting message on behalf of former king Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah, emphasizing national unity, reform, and the role of the younger generation.



“The national festival of Dashain has arrived with the onset of autumn. On this occasion of worshipping Goddess Navadurga and exchanging good wishes, we extend happiness, peace, and prosperity to all Nepalis at home and abroad,” the message read.

The statement noted that the nation is going through devastation and grief, adding that unlike in the past, Tika and Jamara will not be offered this year, and the festival will be observed only within the family.


Unlike in its previous statements, the statement acknowledged Gyanendra Shah as a former king.
