KATHMANDU, Dec 26 : President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Foreign Minister Balananda Sharma amidst a special ceremony held at the President’s Office on Friday.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut, House of Representatives Speaker Devaraj Ghimire, senior government officials, top security officials and other heads and high-ranking officials of constitutional bodies.

Sharma is a former Nepali Army Lieutenant General, who also played an important role in army integration issues after the peace process began in Nepal after November, 2006. He is currently serving as principal at the Institute of Crisis Management at Tribhuvan University.
This is the fourth extension of the cabinet after Karki assumed the office of prime minister after the Gen Z uprising ousted then Prime Minister K P Oli from power.
