New Acer Tablet Iconia A1 hits shelves

KATHMANDU, July 6: Mercantile Office Systems (MOS), the sole authorized distributor of Acer for Nepal, has launched another tablet named Acer Iconia A1 after receiving overwhelming response for its tablet Acer Iconia B1 launched a month ago.



According to the company, Acer´s Iconia A1 is easy to carry, read and explore, and powerful enough for fast media performance. The tablet has 8 inch capacitive multi-touch screen with an exceptional industry leading resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels that provides for an enriching visual experience while watching videos, e-reading, web browsing and playing games on the move. “When a customers looks at the tablet for the first time they gets easily attracted. Thanks to a sleek and light-weight design that is comfortable to hold in one hand and easily fits into a purse or bag,” said Bishal Shrestha, marketing manager of the company.



The company is offering an introductory price of Rs 24,300 for a period of one month. The company said that after a month, the tablet would be priced Rs 27,000.

Customers can buy Acer Iconia A1 from 30 retail outlets of MOS across the country. The company provides one year warranty both on the tablet and the battery.

The new Acer Iconia A1 keeps people entertained and connected with smooth and speedy navigation, browsing and media playback powered by a fast quad-core processor. The Google Android 4.2 OS, Jelly Bean based Iconia A1 is powered by 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor, which ensures enhanced performance and a superior gaming experience.



The design is comfortable to hold, while the sleek build makes it a natural extension for anyone who wants to keep their digital life right at their fingertips, said the company.

The A1 features 1 GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and up to 32GB of expandable memory amply support consumers´ storage requirements. Acer´s Iconia A1 boasts of a 5 mega pixel rear camera with no flash to capture beautiful shots and 0.3 mega pixels front camera for video conferencing.



Though the camera does not have flash, the company said that the picture taken is impressive even in low light environment.

“With the launch of the Acer Iconia A1, consumers who are searching for a portable and affordable solution will get a high performance device that is backed by Acer´s superior build quality, reliability and international warranty,” said Shrestha.

For connectivity, the phone has 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
