Iconia B1 is powered by 1.2 GHz dual core processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system which ensures enhanced performance and a superior gaming experience. The B1 comes with 512 MB RAM, 8GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 32GB through SD card. It sports a camera on the front for video calls.
The 7-inch capacitive multi-touch TFT screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels provides an enriching visual experience. “The resolution is at least 60 percent better than the other devices of the same category and thereby enhances user experience while watching videos, e-reading, web browsing and playing games,” said Manandhar.
According to the company, users can easily carry the tablet as it weighs just 320 grams and the improved design in the form of a triangular corner grip on the lower left side allows for easy single hand use. In addition to that, a stylish blue streak on the side of the tablet enhances the style and looks of the tablet.
The tablet is available at introductory price of Rs 15,999 for a limited period. After that, it will cost Rs 18,500. Mercantile is providing 1 year warranty on Iconia B1. The gadget will be available through 30 retail outlets across the country.
Mercantile plans to launch the upgraded variant of Iconia B1 tablet in the near future. The company said that the upgraded version will have 8-inch screen, SIM slot for 3G connectivity and Windows 8 operating system.
