According to Nepse, as many as 135,585 units of shares worth Rs 38.89 million changed hands through 1,408 transactions on the day. [break]As a result of the gain, total market capitalization on the day jumped to Rs 354.55 billion.
Except for the index of the finance companies, all other firms saw their share prices up during Monday´s trading. Commercial bank group, which weighs the most in the secondary market, recorded gain of 4.4 percent (13.76 points). The sub-index of Hydropower group increased by 2.3 percent (13.88 points) while Other groups enjoyed gain of 2.6 percent on the day.
Top gainers on the day were Muktinath Bikas Bank (8.19 percent), Grand Bank (7.92 percent) and Bank of Asia Nepal (7.14 percent). Kist Bank and Nepal Bangladesh Bank also saw their share prices go up by 6.96 percent and 6.67 percent respectively.
Bank of Kathmandu recorded the highest turnover of Rs 9.30 million on the day.
