NEPSE plunges 78.83 points, hotel & tourism sub-sector hits hardest

All sub-sectors contributed to the decline. The Hotel and Tourism sub-sector fell the most, dropping 4.84 percent, followed by other sub-sectors, which fell 4.79 percent.

KATHMANDU, Oct 12 :  Nepal’s stock market saw significant losses on Sunday, with the NEPSE index falling 78.83 points to 2,503.35.



All sub-sectors contributed to the decline. The Hotel and Tourism sub-sector fell the most, dropping 4.84 percent, followed by other sub-sectors, which fell 4.79 percent.

A total of 242 companies’ investors incurred losses. Butwal Power Company shares fell the most, down 9.27 percent, while only 9 companies saw share price gains. Nepal Microinsurance shares rose the most, up 6.01 percent.


Trading volume reached Rs 6.70 billion, with Nepal Reinsurance shares seeing the highest turnover of Rs 380.7 million, followed by NLG Insurance at Rs 371.7 million.
