KATHMANDU, March 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday declined 20.68 points to close at 2,751.42 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,772.10 points and reached the day’s high at 2,791.04 points within the first one and a half hours. The index then slid to as low as 2,744.23 points when 23 minutes were left for trading. The market recovered around seven points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Only ‘others index’ inclined by 2.07 points. Of the 12 losing groups, non-life insurance shed the largest of 88.05 points.

The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies also declined 3.53 points. Daily turnover decreased to Rs 8.37 billion from Rs 10.09 billion on Sunday.
Among the individual companies, only 44 were gainers while 191 were registered as losers. Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 735.09 million.
Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited shed the largest of 6.98 percent of its market value. NESDO Sambridha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, by adding 9.98 percent to its market price, was recorded as the topmost gainer.
