KATHMANDU, April 1: The Government of Nepal will provide one hundred thousand US dollars in financial assistance to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
A Cabinet meeting on Monday decided to grant this assistance to the institution, which is facing financial difficulties, as Nepal is a founding member country, said government spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will address the institution during his official visit to Thailand and participation in the sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in Bangkok.
Prime Minister Oli is traveling to Thailand this afternoon for an official visit at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
