KATHMANDU, June 21: Nepal concluded their campaign in the Tri-Nation T20 International Series as runners-up after a 34-run defeat to hosts Scotland in the final held on Friday.
Scotland, after winning the toss, opted to bat first and posted a challenging total of 194 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Nepal were bowled out for 159 runs in 18.5 overs, falling short of the target.

Nepal’s chase got off to a shaky start, losing four key wickets inside the powerplay, which significantly dented their chances. Rupesh Singh was the standout performer with the bat, scoring a quickfire 43 off 22 balls. Dipendra Singh Airee added 34 runs, while captain Rohit Paudel contributed 27. However, lack of support from the rest of the batting lineup meant Nepal couldn’t build a sustained chase.
In the bowling department, Kushal Bhurtel claimed two wickets, while Rupesh Singh, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Sandeep Lamichhane picked up one wicket each. Airee and Rijhan Dhakal were expensive with the ball.
All three teams—Nepal, Scotland, and the Netherlands—had secured two wins each in the series. However, Scotland were crowned champions based on a superior net run rate, with Nepal finishing in second place.
