Among 100 participants, 30 will be invited out by Ncell,” said Deepak Acharya, senior golf director of Gokarna.
The tournament will be played over 18 holes on stable ford format with 3/4 handicap allowance.
According to Ncell, the winners will get BlackBerry with Pro Plus and BB service for 1 year, 3G Android smart phones with Pro Plus for a year, Ncell Connect with data packs for post paid and prepaid respectively under the best gross, lady winner and senior/junior categories.
"We have always believed in adding a little zing here and there for our business partners. We have been organizing other such exciting and entertaining events for them. This tournament is also a small example of the same," said Pasi Koistinen, the CEO of Ncell.
Ncell golf league
Meanwhile, Koistinen informed that Ncell plans to establish Ncell Amateur Golf League. “We want to increase awareness for golf in Nepal,” said Koistinen explaining the idea behind hosting the league.
“We´ll host eight events under the league. The league will start on February and end on May,” said Acharya. “The league tournament is now opened for the members of Gokarna Club, who are also the Ncell customers,” he added.
According to Acharya, an amateur golfer has to play at least one event within the 15 days under the league. “The league will inspire amateur golfers,” claimed Acharya, also a successful pro golfer of the country.
“Ncell had started supporting sports by sponsoring APF Cricket team last year and we are supporting golf now. This is just a beginning,” said Sanju Koirala, the corporate communication manager of Ncell.
