Organizing a press conference in the party´s headquarters on Monday, Bal Bahadur KC, coordinator of the Food and Lodging Management Committee for the 12th general convention, said they have reserved altogether 103 hotels in Gaushala, Bagbazar-Kamalpokhari, Sundhara-Bhotebahal and Thamel-Chhetrapati areas. [break]"We have made one bed per person arrangement for the convention period," he said.
The 12th general convention of the party is scheduled for September 17-21.
NC has made decision not to provide lodging facilities to those coming from Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district. Each participant has to pay Rs 1,000 as participation fee for the convention.
According to KC, the party has made food arrangement at Bhrikuti Mandap and the participants would be provided with lunch and dinner besides refreshment in the morning. While lodging for each participant per day is estimated to cost Rs 220-250, the cost of food has been estimated at Rs 300.
KC said they have awarded contract for Swayambhu Peace Zone Hotel Pvt Ltd and Nagarkot Party Palace for providing food to the convention representatives, observers and volunteers. Likewise, Srijana Pure Drinking Water Industry will supply drinking water.
It is estimated that it would cost Rs 5.8 million for lodging, Rs 6.3 million for food and Rs 75,000 for drinking water.
The NC had earlier estimated that the total expense for the 12th general convention would stand at Rs 30 million. The party announced it would collect Rs 10 million on its own and Rs 20 million through donations.
Speaking on the occasion, Internal Management Coordinator of the party Laxman Ghimire said registration of convention representatives will begin Wednesday at the party headquarters in Sanepa. The committee has also made an arrangement with DCBL Bank, which will set up a counter at party office Sanepa to collect Rs 1,000 per head from convention participants.
