Shram Sanskriti Party continues protest for third straight day; Speaker warns of action

KATHMANDU, May 20: Lawmakers from the Shram Shanskriti Party continued their protest by displaying placards in the House of Representatives (HoR) on Wednesday for a third consecutive day, prompting a warning from Speaker DP Aryal over maintaining parliamentary decorum.



During the HoR session, the lawmakers were seen protesting against the government while displaying placards inside the House.

Speaker DP Aryal issued a ruling, instructing the protesting lawmakers, including party Chair Harka Raj Rai Sampang, to maintain parliamentary dignity and warned of action if such conduct continues.


He said repeated acts such as displaying placards and showing disorderly behaviour inside the House violate parliamentary norms.


Referring to Rule 30 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2023, the Speaker cautioned lawmakers to correct their conduct and adhere to parliamentary discipline.
