KATHMANDU, March 8: Aren Rai of the Shram Sanskriti Party has been elected in Khotang with 16,612 votes, marking the party’s first victory.
According to Kopila Rai, assistant chief district officer at the Khotang District Administration Office, Dev Bikram Rai of CPN-UML secured 12,714 votes, Bir Kaji Rai of the Nepali Congress received 11,957 votes, Hari Rokaya of the Nepal Communist Party got 9,443 votes, and the Ghanti election symbol candidate obtained 5,704 votes.

Out of 62,566 votes counted, 58,638 were valid while 3,928 votes were invalid.
Khotang has only one constituency for the House of Representatives. The district has a total of 147,120 voters, including 77,656 male voters and 69,464 female voters.
