According to Police Inspector Bhola Bhatta of Area Police Office, Mugling the traffic along the road section was halted after the upper part of the hill, cut vertically in course of widening the road, collapsed at about 8:00 pm yesterday.
No human casualty was reported in the incident. Landslide debris deposited on the highway was removed by deploying three dozers, added Bhatta.
Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway following the traffic halt.
