Most traffic lights in capital dysfunctional

KATHMANDU, Feb 29: Efforts on managing the traffic in the capital has become problematic as most of the traffic lights were not working properly.

The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division has stated that most of the traffic lights were in dysfunctional state. Traffic lights at Keshar Mahal, Durbarmarga, Putalisadak, Padmodayamode, Singh Durbar, Maitighar, Thapathali, Kalimati, Gaushala,Tinkune, Koteshwor and Kaushaltar are in dysfunctional state due to lack of timely maintenance.Superintendent of police at the division Lokendra Malla said that the traffic management has become a challenging task due to lack of proper function of the road lights.

Traffic police were facing various difficulties in managing the vehicles and pedestrians as the lights do not function. RSS
