KATHMANDU, March 30: As the extended nationwide lockdown enters its second week, the bustling Pashupatinath Temple has no visitors.
Special worships in the temple have been halted until further notice, owing to the possible spread of novel coronavirus.
Eating junk food is bad for health!
The Pashupati Area Development Trust, which oversees the entire management of the revered temple, has said that routine worship is being conducted by the priests as usual.
Although the people's entry to the temple has been restricted, the Pashupatinath premise has a large number of monkeys.
With almost zero presence of the regular worshippers, monkeys are scrambling for food.
On Monday, despite lockdown orders, some visitors were allowed to enter the temple. They fed the monkeys on the temple premises.
The visitors voluntarily feed the monkeys or the aggressive monkeys trouble the people by stealing fruits and foods from the devotees. Hundreds of monkeys live around the temple.
