KATHMANDU, July 10: UCPN (Maoist) politburo member Hisila Yami said on Tuesday that the deposed king Gyanendra Shah could return to the throne if the present political situation persists.

Speaking at a program in Reporters Club Nepal, she said the present parliamentary system is falling apart and if the political parties fail to mend their ways on time, monarchy will return in the country. [break]

Yami, also Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai´s wife, accused the main opposition parties Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML of not being sincere towards ending the current political deadlock in the country.

She stated that PM Bhattarai is ready to quit the moment consensus is reached among the political parties. "Prime Minister Bhattarai will resign immediately after political parties reach a package deal on peace and constitution," she said.

Yami also said the government is committed towards completing the remaining tasks of  the peace process.

She accused NC and UML of trying to create rift between Bhattarai, who is also Vice-chairman of UCPN (Maoist), and party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, by boycotting an all-party meet summoned by the PM but participating in the meet called by Dahal.

She further said that the government is ready to bring the full-fledged budget even if other political parties are against the government´s plan to do so.
