KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Gen Z leader Miraj Dhungana has announced the launch of a “United Gen Z Movement” under his leadership, putting forth a series of demands that include rewriting the constitution. The announcement was made at a press conference in Kathmandu on Sunday.
The movement, which is scheduled to begin from Monday, has called for state restructuring, strict control of corruption and action against corrupt individuals. It has demanded the convening of an all-party roundtable conference or a constitutional reform assembly to facilitate the rewriting of the constitution.
Among its key agendas are the withdrawal of cases filed against Gen Z activists, an end to arrests and repression and an impartial investigation into alleged human rights violations and violent crackdowns during previous Gen Z protests, with action against those responsible.

The movement has also demanded an independent and impartial investigation into corruption at all levels and institutions, calling for the formation of a powerful anti-corruption eradication commission to take action against the guilty.
In addition, the group has sought an end to what it termed a narrow-minded approach toward Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) and has called for voting rights for Nepalis living abroad.
The agenda further includes immediate investigations into cases of fraud, violence, and exploitation faced by sugarcane farmers, victims of usury, cooperative scam victims, microfinance victims and other affected groups.
