KATHMANDU, Jan 19: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has tendered his resignation on Monday.

He submitted the resignation to Prime Minister Sushila Karki, citing preparations to contest the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.
According to sources, Kharel is set to contest the election as a candidate of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) from Lalitpur constituency no. 2. He had joined the Sushila Karki-led government with the mandate of overseeing the conduct of the upcoming election.
