Second session of federal parliament begins today 



KATHMANDU, May 5: The second session of the Federal Parliament has commenced at the International Convention Centre in New Baneshwar today. The session also defined as the 'budget session' summoned by President Bidya Devi Bhandari has, on the recommendation of Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. 


'Don't release transport entrepreneurs if don't agrees to end syndicate'


Ram Bahadur Thapa, Ministry for Home Affairs has directed not to release the arrested transport entrepreneurs if they are not ready to sign on papers to scrapping syndicate.

TU senate meeting cancel: PMO rebukes TU’s claim of PM’s poor health


The Prime Minister’s press advisor has dismissed Tribhuvan University’s claim that the senate meeting was canceled due to PM’s poor health condition. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Tirtha Khaniya said that they had gone to PM’s residence at Baluwatar yesterday to remind him about today’s program.


Nepal Police transfer 79 SPs


The Nepal Police Headquarters on Sunday has transferred 79 Superintendent of Police (SP´s) debuted in several district offices and other units. Issuing a notice on Sunday, the Police Headquarters requested the transferred police officials to report to their respective new offices at the earliest. 


Woman attacked with sharp weapon for not 'bearing' son


A man here allegedly beat his wife for not giving birth to a son. Kumar Shahi of Jufal-7 in Thulibheri Municipality-7 attacked his spouse Bisara Rokaya with a sharp weapon, leaving her seriously injured, threatening to expel her from the house for not having a son. The incident happened on May 4. 


North Korea says denuclearisation pledge not result of U.S.-led sanctions


North Korea said on Sunday its intention to denuclearise, unveiled at a historic inter-Korean summit, was not the result of U.S.-led sanctions and pressure, warning the United States not to mislead public opinion. Impoverished North Korea has been hit by a series of U.N. and U.S. sanctions in recent years in a bid to rein in its nuclear and missile programs.
