A meeting of the Maoist leadership and top leaders of the UDMF held at the prime minister´s residence at Baluwatar, Thursday evening decided to consult legal experts about the citizenship problem and recruitment of Madhesi youths in the NA.[break]
“We will hold discussions with legal experts about how to expedite the process of Madhesi recruitment in the NA given the Supreme Court order staying new recruitment in the national army,” said Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Dan Bahadur Chaudhari, adding, “We will as well find a legal way to address the citizenship problem.”
The SC on December 26 issued an order staying the government decision to recruit Madhesi youths in the NA.

Chaudhari, who was present at the meeting, said the leaders also agreed to bring in the inclusion bill at the earliest. “As the inclusion bill is at the bills committee of the cabinet, we agreed to expedite the process and pass it through the cabinet very soon.”
Similarly, the coalition partners agreed to take forward the process of voluntary retirement of Maoist ex-combatants as per the recent decision of the Special Committee for Supervision, Rehabilitation and Integration of Maoist combatants.
Top leaders of the coalition partners held their Thursday discussions at a time when UDMF leaders are putting intense pressure on the government to push the Madhesi agenda.
UDMF leaders are scheduled to meet on Friday to discuss new strategy for implementation of the four-point agreement reached between the Maoist party and the Madhesi alliance prior to the prime ministerial election.
Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, among others, were present at the meeting.
