Man dies after pickup van carrying petrol hits truck in Dhanusha

JANAKPUR, Dec 21: A man died after a fire broke out while a pick-up van carrying petrol knocked a truck at Godhar of Dhanusha district at the wee hours of Monday morning.

The deceased is driver of the -van but his identity has not been ascertained yet, informed police.


According to police, the incident occurred after the truck, Na 4 Kha 9909, which went out of control due to short-circuit was hit by a pick-up van coming from back at the time of escorting.

The pickup van was carrying tyre, tealeaves,petrol and gas cylinders.

According to check post in-charge ASI Sharad Shankar Sah, the smoke of fire had speeded around 100 meters away.

Driver, assistant driver and passengers were traveling in the pick-up van.

A driver was killed in the fire whereas the assistant driver escaped the incident. Samir Rai of Birtamod -5, Jhapa, who was heading toward Kathamndu had caught the pickup van on the way.
