According to District Police Office Sunsari, Shahid Miya of Bhutaha VDC-1 had killed the 24-year-old Nasima and thrown her body nearby a river at Harinagar. After the murder last week, Sahid had reported to the police saying Nasima went missing. Locals had found the dead body on Monday night.
Police said Shahid fled to India along with his first wife after the dead body was recovered. “The whole circumstances establish that Shahid himself engineered the murder,” claimed Inspector Rajendra Parajuli, adding that they have sought help from their Indian counterparts to track down the couple.
Sahid had married Nasima two years ago.
