KATHMANDU, April 30: The police have said that robbery was the motive behind the murder of Nira Pandey Acharya, a shopkeeper of Saraswati Nagar, Chabahil, Kathmandu.
At a press conference organized by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Sunday, SSP Dinesh Acharya said that the killing of Nira Pandey Acharya was for the purpose of robbery.
On Saturday, the police arrested Binod BK from Jhapa on the charge of being involved in the murder. He was made public as the murder suspect by the police on Sunday.

Acharya said that after killing Nira, BK robbed her gold chain and also looted around 11 thousand rupees from the cash counter.
Acharya also said that the looted gold was sold at a gold shop in Balaju for Rs 55,000.
The deceased Nira Acharya used to run a kitchen supply store named Niru Kitchen in Saraswati Nagar. The murder took place there between 2:45 and 3:15 in the afternoon on 20th April.
After the body was found around 3:30, the police reached the spot. Nira was stabbed at least 18 times with sharp weapons.
