NC leader Ram Chandra Paudel said the meeting failed to strike deal after UCPN (Maoist) and UDMF demanded that the parties resolve all the contentious issues surfaced during the constitution drafting process before discussing on consensus government.
“We have been betrayed again. UCPN (Maoist) had asked us to pick a PM candidate from the party, we did. But now they want us to resolve all disputed issues of the constitution drafting process,” Paudel added, “How can we resolve those issues in a day that have not been resolved in last four years.”
President Ram Baran Yadav’s extended deadline to pick new consensus prime minister ends on Thursday.
