DHALKEBAR, Dhanusha, Dec 3: The agitating Madhesi parties are ready to respond to army deployment in the Tarai if the government so decides, Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Chairman Upendra Yadav warned while addressing a gathering in Dhalkebar, Wednesday.

"With army deployment in the Tarai, we will rule out further negotiations with the government and take to the streets in response," he said.

FSFN Chairman Yadav questioned what he referred to as the government's double standards. "On one hand, the government pretends to hold talks with us while on the other it is discussing army deployment in the name of special security," he said.

The government should first take a stand whether to hold talks or to deploy the army. The government's focus on the Indian blockade shows ignorance of the Madhes uprising, according to Yadav.

Likewise, Tarai-Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur accused the major three parties of pushing the country toward stalemate.

Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Yadav said that the blockade was not their choice but compulsion to pressure the government. "It will continue until our demands are met," he said.
