Surya Prasad Sharma and Rabi Khadka shared the eighth position at three-over 73, while six others - Deo Raj Pakhrin, Yelamber Singh Adhikari, Ram Thapa, Mani Rai, Ram Krishna Shrestha and Tham Bahadur Rai - were tied the 10th position with the score of four-over 74.
CB Bhandari, Deepak Neupane, Ramesh Nagarkoti and Rajan Thapa finished the first day at the 16th after the round of six-over 76, whereas Umesh Nagarkoti and Suman Sapkota shared the 20th position with the score of 78.
Member of Surya Nepal NGA Golf Youth Program, Michael Rai shot six over 76 to take one stroke lead over fellow member of the program, Dinesh Prajapati and Gorkha Lama, who both shot seven over 77.
Altogether, 54 golfers, including 29 pros, are taking part in the eighth event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2011-12. Cut will be applied after the second round. Top 20 pros and seven amateurs will make it to the third and final round.
The event carries a total purse of Rs 425,000 and the winner will take home Rs 80,000. The runner-up will bag Rs 50,000. Others in the top 20 will also receive their share of cash prizes.
