In spite of a thin presence of UDMF cadres around the checkpoint, they are not disrupting the export and import activities.

Over the past one week, the Madhesi cadres have been staging demonstrations and corner meetings in the areas few yards away from the Biratnagar Custom Office.

According to Custom Officer Rajendra Dhungana the demonstration staged by UDMF has not affected the import of goods. There is a huge congestion of cargo vehicles and tankers queuing for check-pass in the premises of the Biratnagar Custom Office.

More than 150 cargo vehicles have been entering Nepal through Jogbani checkpoint every day. Dhungana further added that Indian side has also not creating any hurdles in the export and import of goods these days.

The Jogbani checkpoint has returned to normalcy with hustle and bustle of people, to and fro of cargo vehicles, claims Dhungana.
