KATHMANDU, Nov 9: A cyclist died in an accident that took place in Tanakpur, Ghodaghodi Municipality-2, along the East-West Highway on Sunday morning.
Chief of the Sukhad Area Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Awasthi, informed that cyclist Shankar Dagoura, 55, of Bardagoria Rural Municipality-6, Kota Tulsipur, died when he was hit by a jeep.

According to Awasthi, the seriously injured Dagoura was rushed to Ghodaghodi Hospital for treatment following the accident, where doctors declared him dead. Three other pedestrians were also reported injured in the accident.
Padam Bahadur Shahi, 54, of Sadepani, Ghodaghodi-2; Harka Bahadur Dagoura, 45, of Bardagoria Rural Municipality-6, Kota Tulsipur and Krishna Dagoura, 25, of Bardagoria-6 are among the injured. They are undergoing treatment at Ghodaghodi Hospital. The injured Padam Bahadur Shahi has been referred to Dhangadhi for further treatment.
The Area Police Office has informed that the police has taken control of the jeep and its driver, 23-year-old Santosh Ghartimagar, a resident of Triveni Rural Municipality-4, Rolpa.
