KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Students, teachers and staff of Islington College reached Dolakha district to distribute blankets for 900 quake victims of quake-ravaged Bulung and Laduk VDCs. The team, including the college chairman Sulav Budathokhi reached the affected areas to distribute the relief materials to quake victims holding red ID cards provided by the District Disaster Relief Committee.

The team distributed blankets to 815 quake victims of Bulung, 74 households of underprivileged Dalit community in Laduk and 11 students of Lamidada-based Kalinath Higher Secondary School, informed chairman Budathoki.

"Most of donors reach out to urban areas for delivering relief and in doing so victims of rural areas are left out. Hence, we reached out to quake victims of rural villages who have nothing to protect themselves from the biting cold weather," he said while elaborating for reaching out to Gorkha.

The college also distributed notebooks, pencils and other educational items to over 400 students of Sharada High School and Bulung Khani Primary School.

"Reaching the affected areas, meeting the victims and contributing relief materials to make their lives better, gave our team satisfaction. We will continuity our charity works in the days ahead too," Budathoki added.
