KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Chances are high that Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) will provide fuel to Nepal from its Raxaul-based depot after Birgunj-Raxaul border point that was closed since four months has returned to normal operation.

The country is reeling under acute fuel crisis as some 70 percent of petroleum products are imported through the checkpoint.

The IOC is likely to provide fuel to Nepali tankers from Monday.

IOC has directed its depot to load petrol, diesel, LP gas and ATF to tankers and bullets and informed the decision to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC).

NOC Spokesperson confirmed that NOC has received the letter, adding that some tankers will be loaded today itself.

Some three dozen tankers have reached Raxaul depot.
