Indo-Nepal U-16 cricket from Tuesday

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: Wai Wai Indo-Nepal U-16 Cricket Tournament is all set to kick off in the Valley on Tuesday. The five-day event, with cash prizes of Rs 80,000 for the winner and Rs 40,000 for the runner-up, will see the participation of four teams from India and eight schools of Nepal, including the host Greenland Childern´s Academy.



The group stage matches of the tournament will be held at Bhaktapur´s ground in the first three days, while the semifinals and final will be held at Pulchowk Engineering Campus. [break]



Former member of Cricket Association of Nepal, Binod Raj Rajbhandari said that the school-level tournament is being organized to hunt new talents. “Cricket cannot develop unless we give attention to the grassroots level,” he said.
