After the pressure from the locals to stop digging the pond encroaching Nepali land, Indian side agreed to shelve the project and destroy whatever has been built within 24 hours.[break]
Some Indian citizens had been constructing a huge pond in the boarder for over a week breaching the no man´s land and the private land of Nepali citizens.
A team from the Armed Police Force from Boarder Security Office Siraha had reached the spot after the locals of Sukhchaina informed that Indians had been constructing pond encroaching upon Nepali land.
“When I reached the spot, I found some Indian citizens were forcibly digging the pond breaching the land of Nepali farmers and the no man´s land,” Said Inspector Man Bahadur Pandey, who was leading the inspecting team. According to Pandey, the locals at Araha village in Kamalabari VDC-3 of India had encroached 15 meters of land beyond the no man´s land to build the pond.
Pandey further informed that the Indian sides agreed to demolish the pond by Tuesday after holding a meeting participated by the official of Indian Sashastra Seema Bal (Armed Border Force), Chandan Singh locals of the Araha village and chief of Kamalabari VDC Bhola Yadav.
The land where the pond is under construction belongs to Ramkupal Yadav, Ramsebak Yadav, Dhaniklal Yadav, Bijaylal Yadav of Sukhchaina VDC.
“We repeatedly requested not to dig the pond in our land but they turned a deaf ear to our request at the beginning. However after we sought assistance from the armed police force, the Indian side had agreed to destroy the pond. I am still not confident that the Indian side will honor the agreement," said Ramsebak.
Sukhchaina VDC lies between middle sized boarders pillar no 265\22 and small size pillar no 265/24. Some of Indian citizens have already dug the pond 50 feet in length and 25 feet in breath and 6 feet deep with the use of excavator machine.
