ARGHAKHANCHI, Sept 2: Police arrested a man in Arghakhanchi for allegedly killing his wife and burying her body in a pit inside their kitchen.
According to District Police Chief Chakrabhadur Malla, 36-year-old Kiran Gurung, a resident of Patalepokhara in Chhatradev Rural Municipality-4, allegedly killed his 26-year-old wife, Sumitra Kumal Gurung.
Sumitra had been missing since Sept 1, prompting her family to file a complaint at the district police office. During interrogation, Kiran reportedly confessed to killing her on the night of Sept 12 following a family dispute and burying the body in the kitchen.

Police recovered her body during excavation and have sent it for postmortem at the district hospital. Items used in the murder, including a spade, sickle, hoe, and crowbar, were also seized.
Preliminary investigations reveal the couple had married 10 years ago and have a nine-year-old daughter. Authorities also noted that the suspect had consumed alcohol on the day of the incident. Kiran remains in police custody as further investigation continues.
