Home stay in Nagarkot in limbo

BHAKTAPUR, Jan 26: The plan to develop home stay in tourist destination Nagarkot to attract more tourists during the Nepal Tourism Year-2011 has been left high and dry before it began, thanks to the government apathy and locals´ poor management.



Chairman of Nagarkot-Naldum Tourism Development Committee Shyam Bhakta Kyastha said the concept of home stay has been in limbo after the locals paid no attention in this issue. He also said that the government failed to deliver any programme to develop and promote this concept.[break]



It was believed that the home stay would help generate more employment opportunities at the local level and the tourists´ stay in the area could be extended.



Committee´s secretary Dipak Lamichhane said the entrepreneurs and government should work together to materialize the concept of the home stay.
