People living in the highlands have not been able to come out from their homes after the temperature plunged several degrees following the snowfall. According to the District Traffic Office, transportation along the Karnali Highway has been badly affected. Very few vehicles are in operation.
Traveling to Manma Bazaar, and markets in Jite, Hulma, and Lalighat have become extremely difficult. Likewise, most of the schools in the district have remained shut.
Locals in the higher region said they are finding it difficult to save their animals. According to the police, Kalikot, Jumla, Dolpa, Mugu, Humla, along with other districts of Karnali, have experienced heavy snowfall.
