KATHMANDU, Nov 20: Services provided by the Ministry of Health and Population can now be accessed from the prefab buildings constructed at the site of the Nepali Army’s Nursing Corps in the Singha Durbar premises.
The ministry has been temporarily relocated to six prefabricated buildings constructed with the support of the World Health Organisation at a cost of approximately Rs 100 million. With the relocation of the Ministry of Health, all central ministries of the Government of Nepal are now based within the Singha Durbar premises.
Ministry prepares to abandon 'suffocating' prefab building
Acting Head of the South-East Asia Regional Office of the World Health Organization, Dr Catherine Boehm, handed over the building structures to Minister for Health and Population, Dr Sudha Gautam, at a program organized here today.
Previously, the Ministry of Health was shifted to the new building of the Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) after its building at Ramshahpath was burnt down during the Zen-G protests.
