Govt promotes four joint secretaries

KATHMANDU, July 12: The government on Thursday decided to promote the four joint secretaries to the post of secretary.



A cabinet meeting held this morning decided to promote joint secretaries, Durga Nidhi Sharma, Gyan Darshan Udas, Surya Silwal and Dhan Bahadur Tamang to the post of secretary, Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav, also the spokesman for the government,  informed after the meeting.[break]



The promotion committee had recommended a total of 12 names for the vacant positions.



According to Minister Yadav,  the meeting also dwelt on whether the government should go for one-third budget or partial budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2012/13. However, no decision was made in that regard, he added.



The meeting also decided to accept a grant assistance of Rs. 1.58 billion from the Kuwait fund to conduct a detailed study and implementation of  the Budi Gandaki Hydropower Project and another Rs. 5.31 billion from the World Bank for maintenance of various bridges across the country.
