KATHMANDU, March 27: The government has decided to implement the recommendations made by the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led commission investigating the Gen Z protests case. The decision was taken at the first cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Education, Science and Technology Minister and government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said.
According to Pokharel, for matters related to security agencies, a study committee will be formed and actions will be taken based on its recommendations. For other cases, concerned agencies, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, will be directed to immediately implement the commission’s recommendations.

The commission had recommended 10-year jail terms for former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, and IGP Chandra Kuber Khapung, along with disciplinary action against other senior government officials.
