KATHMANDU, Oct 26: The government has stated it is always ready and serious about addressing legitimate demands, concerns, and issues raised by the public.
In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs urged all sides to seek lawful solutions to their demands through dialogue and discussion instead of holding sit-ins, rallies, protests, or other agitation programs.

According to the ministry, the current government, formed after the Gen Z-led protests, is actively working to create an environment for the elections scheduled for March 5. The statement said the government has been holding talks with political parties and stakeholders, and has begun making necessary legal amendments, as well as arranging resources for the polls.
“Maintaining peace and security in the country and conducting free, fair, and fear-free elections on the announced date require everyone’s cooperation and responsibility,” the statement added.
The ministry also said that following the September 8–9 protests, the government has resumed public services and initiated the reconstruction of damaged structures, helping restore normalcy and focus on election preparations.
It noted concern over calls on social media for new protests, rallies, and sit-ins under various names.
“There are indications that certain vested groups could infiltrate such events to create instability, unrest, and chaos, so organizers must remain cautious,” the statement warned.
The ministry further urged everyone to ensure that while voicing their demands, the rights of citizens to live peacefully, access public services, and participate in elections are not disrupted. It called on the public to help maintain communal harmony and promote national interests without disturbing public order and national security.
