Goldengate defeated Nepal Army Club 69-58 to hand the latter its second defeat in as many matches. Sushil Gurung topscored with 16 points for the winning team.
Goldengate led the first three quarters -- 26-13, 17-14, 12-11 before going down 14-20 in the last quarter.[break]
Meanwhile, Gurukul overcame host Kirtipur 94-68 to hand the host its first defeat in two matches. Sadish Pradhan contributed the highest 27 points for Gurukul to crush the host on its home court.
Gurukul dominated the match from start to finish and led all four quarters. Gurukul took the quarters 21-10, 28-21, 22-21, 23-16 en route to victory.

White House overcame NASA 69-53 riding on 18 points from Bijay Khatri to achieve its first victory in three matches. Whitehouse took all the quarters 15-12, 15-12, 17-9, 22-20 to wrap up the victory.
The tournament is the first event organized in Nepal in double round robin format. The top four from among the six participating teams at the end of the double round robin will make it through to the semifinals. All 33 matches of the event organized by Naya Bazar Club are being conducted on weekend days and holidays.
The next match is scheduled between host Kirtipur and WhiteHouse on Friday.
