Girl ineligible to sit for SLC kills self

ACHHAM, April 1: A girl here committed suicide for reportedly being failed to secure mandatory attendance to sit for the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination that started from Thursday.
Bindra Rawal, 22, of Mangalsen Municipality-11 was barred from taking the exam as she failed to secure required attendance.She was the student of Jupu-based Kalika Higher Secondary School. As per the provision, 75 per cent class attendance of the total academic session is mandatory for any student to sit for the SLC.
Rawal who had been India for general health checkup returned home recently to attend the exam, said the family source. Police said the motive behind the incident is yet to be confirmed and they are trying to to find it out. The body has been sent to the District Hospital Accham for a post-mortem. RSS
