KATHMANDU, July 1:
Former king Gyanendra Shah has arrived in Bhairahawa to attend religious programs, on Sunday afternoon.

The former king landed at the Gautam Buddha Airport on a Buddha Air aircraft at around 2:30 pm and then headed straight to the Hotel Nirwan, where he will stay. His supporters received Shah at the airport with music band and bouquets.

Shah will offer worship at various temples in Nawalparasi, Rupadehi and Kapilvastu districts during his five-day trip. On Monday, he is scheduled to go to Kapilvastu and perform puja at the Taulihawa-based Tauleshwor Mahadev temple and Krishnagar-based Radhakrishna temple.

It is also said that the former monarch will hold interactions with pro-royalists in Bhairahawa.

Shah´s personal secretary Sagar Timilsina and deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Udhav Rawat, responsible for Shah’s security, had traveled to Kapilvastu on Saturday to make necessary arrangements.
